Nakheel showcases its iconic UAE Real Estate to European Investors

Property developer invited as guest of honour to inauguration ceremony of Instituto de Empressa’s Tourism Management programme

2005.10.4, Dubai, UAE – Nakheel, Dubai’s premier real estate developer, has highlighted its part in the transformation of the coastline of the Emirate during a presentation given at Spain’s Instituto de Empressa, one of the top five business schools in Europe. Nakheel was extended a special invitation by the college to the inauguration ceremony of the school’s Executive Masters programme in Tourism Management.

Khalid Al Huraimel, General Manager of Madinat Al Arab, the first phase and downtown area of Dubai Waterfront, delivered the presentation, showcasing Nakheel’s entire portfolio of projects, and focusing on Dubai Waterfront, The Palm and The World.

“As Dubai continues its steady march up the league of major international cities, it is now widely acknowledged that among the key factors behind the city’s growing global profile are its unique property developments and their contribution to the city’s tourism offer. Today, iconic projects such as The Palm, The World and Dubai Waterfront have become subjects of considerable interest not just among investors and visitors, but also colleges and universities around the world, to the extent of becoming virtual case studies in themselves,” Al Huraimel said.

The highlight of Al Huraimel’s presentation was Dubai Waterfront, an 81 million square metre waterfront development comprising 250 master planned communities. The focal point of Dubai Waterfront is the Madinat Al Arab, which occupies the majority of the sea-facing land on the last remaining beachfront real estate in Dubai. Madinat Al Arab will be anchored by Al Burj, one of the tallest buildings in the world.

“Nakheel’s landmark projects are fast transforming the landscape of Dubai, while also changing the global perception of the city. It is the mega projects which are putting Dubai in headlines around the world. Attendance at events such as this, support the UAE Embassy in Spain in creating awareness of Dubai – and of course, our projects. We look forward to exploring more opportunities in Spain in the future” Al Huraimel said.

Among the dignitaries present during Al Huraimel’s presentation were H.E. Sultan Mohammed Ali Al Qortasi Al Noami, UAE Ambassador to Spain and Raimon Martinez Fraile, Secretary General of Tourism, Government of Spain. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by a host of managers and business leaders from leading companies in the Spanish tourism sector.

About Dubai Waterfront:

The Dubai Waterfront, the largest-of-its-kind waterfront development in the world, comprises a balanced mix of residential, retail, hotel, office and industrial offerings, in addition to common areas that will be reserved for educational, cultural, health and recreational purposes. Located 35 km south west of Dubai, bordering Abu Dhabi, on the last remaining coastal waterfront of the Emirate, the Dubai Waterfront forms the first phase of a larger effort — the Arabian Canal — a 75km development envisioned by His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed. It will serve as primary entrance to the Arabian Canal, which ultimately will provide long-term waterfront investment opportunities.
