2005.7.24, Dubai, UAE – Nakheel, the UAE’s premier property developer, has announced the appointment of Khaled Al Huraimel as General Manager of Madinat Al Arab, the first phase of The Dubai Waterfront Company, a newly instituted venture by Nakheel that will develop the largest water front development in the world.
Born in the UAE, Khaled Al Huraimel holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from King Fahd University, Saudi Arabia, and an MBA from the University of Bradford (UK). In his previous role at Nakheel as Senior Manager of the Sales and Marketing Department, Khaled played a key role in the development of the Dubai Waterfront, including working with major investors and developers who desire to invest within the Dubai Waterfront. Khaled joined Nakheel from ENOC International Sales LLC, a subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company where, as Manager, Sales and Marketing, he expanded ENOC’s international sales network.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, Khaled will have complete responsibility for the project which will occupy the majority of sea facing land on the last remaining beach front real estate in Dubai. Madinat Al Arab, the focal point and downtown area of Dubai Waterfront will be anchored by Al Burj, one of the tallest buildings in the world. Heading up a highly skilled and experienced team, Khaled assumes full responsibility for the project, including promoting the development locally and internationally, sales and marketing, development, construction, admin and delivery to end users and developers.

Khaled Al Huraimel, General Manager, Madinat Al Arab, said: “I am honoured to be appointed as General Manager for a project which I have been involved with from the start. Madinat Al Arab will be the focal point of an outstanding new city in Dubai. Built on the last remaining waterfront in Dubai, the project will be heavily influenced by water, with a canal flowing through it and a major harbour and marina. We have the best architects and master planners working on this project, which will feature resorts, retail, commercial spaces, public spaces, a mix of residencies and an integrated transport network including light rail and a sophisticated road network. Located near to the new Jebel Ali Airport, Dubai Waterfront will be fully accessible on a local and international scale.”
The appointment is one of a number of announcements that will be made over the coming weeks as Nakheel restructures its senior management team in order to enhance customer focus and delivery, and to prepare for the next stage of growth and profitability. Each Nakheel project will now act as an autonomous strategic business unit complete with its own management, budget and team.
